Tall Fescue

Turf tall fescue; is a cool season grass that is used widely as turf from North Carolina, westward to Atlanta Georgia and Birmingham Alabama to the northern two thirds of Arkansas and into Texas and Oklahoma.It is a coarse, textured, bunch type grass that can be planted in a wide range of climate and soil conditions. It can also be more tolerant of heat stress, drought and disease problems than other cool season grasses. Turf tall fescue is more cold tolerant than warm season grasses, it grows well in the spring and fall but grows little during extreme cold and heat.
